Attorney Robert Wood discusses 468b trusts and their tax issues.

While at the recent Mass Torts Made Perfect Conference Attorney Robert Wood, one of the nations leading experts on taxable damages and settlement taxation issues sat down with Attorney Jan Schlichtmann of The Civil Action Center to discuss the recent innovation in 468b settlement trusts. I'll be presenting on this issue at the NSSTA annual in Toronto later this month, and many people are already asking me about the tax aspects of using a 468b trust as a lead vehicle in litigation and negotiation of Mass tort cases. In this video Rob Wood and Jan talk about how the tax aspect works, how it is being applied in the property and mass tort cases Jan is currently working on, and the use of these trusts in looming mass torts such as Procrit and other anemia drugs such as aranesp or epogen. If your curious about how this old and established tax vehicle is being used in a new and exciting fashion, this is a chance to get up to speed.
