House bill provision would strengthen insurers subrogation claims.

In what is exceptionally bad news for plaintiffs, trial lawyers and others who work in the settlement community, the US House is working on a provision to the pension legislation that is in the compromise committee with the Senate to further strengthen the ability of private insurer's, group health plans and union health plans to reach the first dollars of a personal injury settlement.

Today's Wall Street Journal has all the details.

I'll follow up on this and try to get you the exact bill, sponsors and where it is in the process, as this will have a substantial impact on settling cases, given that it will strengthen the hand of medical payers in negotiations to obtain reimbursement for medicals.
