Vioxx testimony focuses on discrepancy in letter
Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 02:11AM In testimony earlier today, Attorney Mark Lanier was able to hammer home discrepancies about Mercks letter it sent to doctors on the risk of Vioxx.
The focus was a 2001 letter in which it appears the risks of cardiac
incidents was substantially understated according to Merck's own
internal study, but yet was sent to doctors, most notably the
plaintiffs doctor in this case.
Interesting reading regarding the tactics being used. The press
coverage has been outstanding so far in both the New York Times and The
Wall Street Journal.
