Guidant defibrillator recalls raises dilema.

Great article in the Wall Street Journal today on the issue of the Guidant pace-makers and defibrillator. Puts a human face on the awful choice people have to make when an implanted device, crucial to their ability to live a normal life, is recalled due to defects.

More then the legal aspect, this article drives home the issues of removal, reimplantation, sedation and surgical risks, the emotional toll, etc.

A grim reminder of the human side of law suits and litigation and the choices people are forced to make when a product defect shows up in advanced medical devices.
