The Settlement Channel, hosted and managed by Mark Wahlstrom, President of Wahlstrom & Associates, is an affiliated partner of The Legal Broadcast Network. While functioning as a regular blog and commentary platform, it is also one of the places on our broadcast platform where you can view Mark's weekly broadcast of Speaking of Settlements, the weekly commentary and news show on the structured settlement and settlement planning professions. The mission is to provide the finest news, commentary and educational content for settlement and legal professionals available anywhere on the internet, as well as shows and information for consumers looking for unbiased, objective insight as to what a structured settlement is and why it is of benefit to personal injury victims.
The show and this web site are open to any member of what is loosely referred to as either the Settlement Community, or the Structured Settlement business. This would include professionals who refer to themselves as Settlement Planners, Structured Settlement brokers or specialists, trust company experts who manage special needs trusts or court settlement trusts, as well as financial planners or wealth managers who work as part of their practice in assisting personal injury victims with the myriad decisions involving court settlements. We also welcome the participation and viewing of any trial lawyer or paralegal interested in the dynamics of the settlement industry, or those just searching for assistance in settlement process decisions.
As early as July 1, 2005 we made the decision to transition virtually all of our shows, print content and podcasts to a RSS feed platform, and this page was the first example of the interactivity crucial to managing and sharing information and knowledge in these highly specialized markets. It was the first full time broadcast and RSS platform on the topic of structured settlements and remains the leading content provider and commentator by most objective measures.
Also of note, back in October of 2005 the studios of The Legal Broadcast Network were completed in Phoenix, Arizona and created our first full broadcast, podcast and editing facility available to our staff and associated members essentially 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The creation of this studio allowed us to expand our capacity to broadcast, edit and syndicate both audio and video content. In April of 2009 we moved to our current 3000 square foot facility in North Scottsdale and with a full time staff of 12 professionals we can create, broadcast and syndicate more video content than any other studio broadcasting to lawyers in the US.
